We are the Canary Islands Dental Foundation. Since 1990, we have been working in Tenerife to bring preventive care and oral health services closer to those who need them most, with a focus on vulnerable communities.
Over 35 years caring for oral health in Tenerife
The Canary Islands Dental Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 1990 by Dr. Claudia Rodríguez Maradei. We develop oral health prevention and education programs across the Canary Islands, with special attention to people in vulnerable situations.

Prevention, research, and social care in Tenerife

Oral health in schools
We bring dental education directly into classrooms in the Isla Baja and Icod areas, teaching oral hygiene habits to children since 1990.

P.L.D. Method
A Lingual Plaque Detection technique designed to help visually impaired individuals identify dental plaque. Scientifically supported by CHC.

Care for vulnerable youth
In partnership with the municipalities of Garachico, Buenavista, Los Silos, Icod, and El Tanque, we provide care to young people referred by social services.

School-age children
We work with schools across Tenerife to introduce oral health prevention from an early age, helping build lifelong healthy habits.
Young people in vulnerable situations
Youth referred by municipal social services receive priority dental care at our clinics in Tenerife.
Visually impaired individuals
Our P.L.D. Method enables blind individuals to detect dental plaque, with scientifically validated results from the Canary Islands University Hospital.
